Rachel Murphy has expressed deep concern over the traumatic experience his five-pound dog, Toto , went through last weekend. Rachel claims that a groomer taped Toto r’s mouth shut when it was bitten. This resulted in the dog looking bloody and being distressed.

Rachel recounted, "My dog was clearly in distress. What I originally thought was an actual muzzle, turned out to actually be tape. Toto r’s paws appeared to be red and inflicted with injuries. The toenails had been cut too near to the paw which probably triggered his biting response."


Wow! My Dog, an on-the-go pet salon, employed the groomer that was responsible for this.

Rachel took Toto straight to the hospital for emergency medical care. He joined a number of others in accusing Wow! My Dog for animal abuse. San Mateo has launched an investigation to determine if the company is guilty of animal cruelty.

Rachel described the wounds he noticed, saying: "I noted injuries around the joints, the neck, as well as in the genital. The cuts were severe enough to cause bleeding."

Marianna De las Vegas, customer of Wow! My Dog posted a website Yelp review detailing the way his pets were returned unwell or injured. Another customer took a Snapchat of a dog appearing to be in pain. They claimed that a groomer inserted an ear napkin by force.

Wow! My Dog wants customers to also be aware of what groomer told them, as a person they had trusted with their pets. Rachel said, "Juliann told me that tapering the mouth shut was a normal, acceptable method. He claimed it is better than using a muzzle which, according to him, can be harmful for dogs. He mentioned that he used the same method for his own dogs.

Gate News called Wow! My Dog and she answered, but then handed the phone over to another woman who told Gate News that they were looking into the allegations. But when Puppy was brought up, she said it was a different entity and ended the call abruptly.
